Kostas Argyris
Kostas Argyris was Born in Vounoplayia, Ioannina, in 1957, he pursued his studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts between 1977 and 1983. There, he specialized in Drawing and Painting under the guidance of Dimitris Mytaras and Lefteris Kanakakis, Sculpture with Yannis Pappas and Dimitris Kalamaras, and Scenography under Vassilis Vassileiadis. In 1987, he was awarded a three-year scholarship by the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. Over the course of his career, he has held three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows, presenting both paintings and sculptures. His work has been distinguished with four first prizes in national art competitions in Greece. Notable commissions include a life-size statue of Rigas Feraios created for Belgrade in 1991, as well as memorial busts of Antonis Tritsis (1999), Tassos Vournas, and Konstantinos Vellios (2009), all installed in Athens. His artworks are featured in public spaces as well as in private collections. He is currently based in Athens, where he continues to live and work.
